While cloud computing uses centralized servers to provide various services, dew computing uses on-premises computers to provide decentralized, cloud-friendly, and collaborative services to end-users. The key features of Dew computing are that on-premises computers provide functionality independent of cloud services and they also collaborate with cloud services. Briefly speaking, dew computing is an organized way of using local computers in the age of cloud computing.
IEEE DewCom intends to gather the latest research and development results on Dew Computing paradigm. It seeks original contributions, which demonstrate the theoretical and practical progress of Dew Computing, as well as implementation experiences from researchers in the area of Dew Computing, including but not limited to the following topics:

Low End Distributed Systems

Dew Computing Theory and Vision

Dew Computing Structure and Architecture

Dew, Cloud and Fog Computing integration and/or interrelation

Dew Computing and IoT, Ubiquitous Computing

Dew Computing and Databases

Dew Computing and Networks

Dew Computing Protocols and Security

Dew Computing Applications

Important Dates

Workshop papers due: 1 May 2021

Workshop paper notifications: 15 May 2021

Camera-ready and registration due: 31 May 2021

Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research work, as well as industrial practice reports. Simultaneous submission to other publication venues is not permitted. In accordance with IEEE policy, submitted manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism. Instances of alleged misconduct will be handled according to the IEEE Publication Services and Product Board Operations Manual.

DEWCOM 2021 will be held together with COMPSAC 2021. The following link is DEWCOM 2021’s CFP page in COMPSAC 2021:

https://ieeecompsac.computer.org/2021/dewcom/

Please note that in order to ensure the fairness of the review process, COMPSAC follows the double-blind review procedure. Therefore we kindly ask authors to remove their names, affiliations and contacts from the header of their papers in the review version. Please also redact all references to authors’ names, affiliations or prior works from the paper when submitting papers for review. Once accepted, authors can then include their names, affiliations and contacts in the camera-ready revision of the paper, and put the references to their prior works back.

Formatting

Workshop papers are limited to 6 pages. Page limits are inclusive of tables, figures, appendices, and references.
